2) The Deep South – New Orleans to Nashville

If you’re a lover of food, music or both, this is a motorcycle tour you don’t want to miss!

New Orleans has long been the home of authentic home cooked Creole and Cajun cuisine and is famous for its jazz infused nightlife on Bourbon and Frenchman street. So, it is the perfect place to start your trip.

Infectious music will run through your bones as you hop from one music city to the next crossing the country from Jazz in New Orleans, Blues in Memphis and Country Music in Nashville. Each city has its own points of interest for you to visit and / or drive through on each leg of your journey.

Points of interest on your journey:

3) Colorado Alpine Loop

The ‘Lone Star state’ offers motorcycle riders some of the best road trips and an exceptional array of scenery for a short but sweet 132 miles.

One such grouping of great motorcycle roads, Ranch Roads 335, 336, and 337 in the Texas Hill Country are nicknamed the Twisted Sisters, but be warned, these roads aren’t for the faint hearted!

The Twisted Sisters take riders through a loop of Texas ranches, valleys, and hills. Providing panoramic views, curving around canyons and rises with few guardrails. One 15-mile stretch is said to have approximately 65 curves. Great for those wanting to feel the bends!

Along the route, there are several roadside attractions can be visited — the Lone Star Motorcycle Museum, Stonehenge II, Frio Canyon Motorcycle Stop, and Lost Maples State Natural Area are all notable stops on the journey as well as the humble town of Camp Woods which passes through Nueces River. Fantastic tour for all you thrill-seekers out there!

Great For: A tour that is not just hour after hour of straight roads!

4) Colorado Rockies - San Juan Mountain Skyway

This full stretch of road is just 233 miles in length but it isn’t called the ‘Million Dollar Highway’ for nothing!

This short (by some comparison) stretch of road offers up some of the most breath-taking views of the Rocky Mountains thanks to that this road is directly in the middle, surrounded by these mountains. While this does sound idyllic, the views are not without its risk as the winding trail can be treacherous on both sides with the risk of falling rocks. It is advised to not attempt this route during bad weather but if the sun is out and it’s a clear day, hop on your motorcycle and enjoy the view.

Mountain goats, black bears, and mule deer can be spotted amongst the waterfalls, gorges, and mountain peaks!

For a trip of a lifetime, extend on this and cover 2750 miles of Rockies and Canyonlands from Phoenix, Arizona to The Colorado Rockies. Trip highlights for the full stretch include - Painted Desert, Window Rock, Canyon de Chelley, Four Corners, Mesa Verde NP, Durango, Pass, Independence pass, Aspen, Natural Bridges, Capitol Reef, Escalante, Bryce Canyon and many more!

Great For: a truly memorable scenic motorcycle holiday.

5) Pacific Coast Highway

Make your way from Seattle to San Francisco following the Pacific Coast Highway!

This route is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful motorcycle roads in America. This journey approximately takes 7- 10 days to complete and on route you will view rugged California coastline, the Golden Gate Bridge, views of the famous Alcatraz prison and that’s just San Francisco alone!

Other stopping points can include Ocean Shores in Newport, Redwood National Park and Fort Bragg – known for its spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean.

With sharp turns, drop offs and heavy fog, riders need to keep the eyes on the road, despite the distracting scenes and majestic crashing waves!

Great if you want an adventure motorcycle holiday.
